Niche Browser Review

September 28th, 2007 · 1 Comment

A few years back when Google was just an upstart in the search engine market and my search engine of choice was InfoSeek, I had an idea to make searching more user-friendly. I was just starting to come to grips with the power of Boolean search queries and wanted a way to hide this from the user. My idea was to slap a front end over top search engines such as InfoSeek and AltaVista and embed it somehow into Internet Explorer.

This way, a searcher could answer a few questions on a form, and under the covers, the software would perform its magic and gin up complex Boolean search queries in order to bring back ultra-relevant search results.

It would literally change the world!

In the interim, Google’s search engine evolved by leaps and bounds. I on the other hand did very little in developing my idea. I got bogged down on how to integrate a toolbar into IE and didn’t get far at all. Once I saw where Google was going, I said “screw it, they’ve beaten me to it”.

In reality, I still thought searching could be made more user-friendly despite the amazing progress Google was making.

After I got started with IM, searching became even more vital to my day-to-day activities. Both for niche research as well as SEO tasks.

Then one fine day about a year ago, I received an email from the IM bad boy, west coast surfer dude, number one in Google for “Internet Marketing Kegger“, Jason “Profit” Moffatt offering his “Niche Browser” for the amazing price of $0!

After I downloaded and installed it I was stunned to see that “Niche Browser” was my idea fully realized! And it was so much better than what I was envisioning a browser front end to be.

The features built in to “Niche Browser” are extensive and you don’t have to use it for just doing niche research for IM projects. In fact, anyone who needs to do any kind of research on the Web will find it an extremely valuable tool.

I use it primarily for researching topics for articles and potential niches to build sites on. I especially like the ability to quickly locate FAQs, tutorials, and PDFs on any topic I punch in. You can even dig deeper and find images, videos, and products on Amazon and eBay related to your search phrase.

As you can see the power this places in the hands of IMers is nothing short of astonishing.

Jason just sent out an email with the download link for Version 3 of “Niche Browser” and warned that it probably won’t be free for much longer.

Run, don’t walk, there now and grab it!
