It’s been way too long since I lasted posted on here and for all intents and purposes, I had pretty much given this blog up for dead. It did seem a little pointless to continue posting about IM when my own efforts weren’t producing very impressive results. After all, there is only so much I can say about structuring Adwords campaign, when I no longer have an Adwords account or how to get massive amounts of traffic when all I’m getting is just a trickle. There is good news though on both the personal and business fronts.
I’ve have posted before about some personal issues, which in retrospect, probably didn’t need to be mentioned. The good news is that things have come full circle and my wife and I have reconciled and we’re continuing are life together. IM is a very lonely business and it became unbearably so while I was separated from my wife. Fortunately our differences weren’t to the degree that we could never be together again. I think we’ve both learned a lot since living apart for over a year.
My business is still in the dumps, but in this area I’ve also learned more. If nothing else, I’ve learned quite a bit about what isn’t working for me online any longer. I’ve also come to realize that there are scattered bits and pieces of my efforts over the past 5 years that are still bearing some fruit. The challenge before me now is to build up this pieces into more substantial income sources and string them all together into the core of my business.
To put things into proper perspective, I’ve noticed several other people in the IM business who have gone through some tough times in both their personal lives and with their online businesses. Some of the challenges a few of them have faced or continue to face make me ashamed that I ever got down about my own situation. I’ve also run across a few folks that were wildly successful in their online marketing careers, but for whatever reasons, just burned out and took long hiatuses.
I plan to wind things down more or less formerly with this blog since I’ve lost momentum with it. I have plans to put up another blog, which will be much more focused on the particular business models that I continue to use. I’d also like to put up some online tools that I’ve developed and make them available for everyone to use. In the mean time, I’ll probably wrap up some loose ends here with some issues regarding ePN and BayRSS. This blog used to rank highly for search terms related to these items and I noticed the stray visitor stumbling here looking for help with these topics.
I’m also working myself up to a more or less epic post on what I think about the current state of IM and where I’m looking to take my efforts with it.
