The title of this post: “A Good Free HTML Editor“, has become an oxymoron by now. The old adage, “you get what you pay for“, really applies in this case. One of the best known free WYSIWYG HTML editors has been Nvu. I wrote a lament about Nvu a while back. It has since been replaced by another open source project called kompoZer, which despite some feature enhancements, is still plagued by the same annoyances that Nvu was so infamous for. I won’t enumerate those annoyances again here. If you want to know more about what they are, just read my previous post linked to above.

BayRSS Plugin For ePN
I’ve been using the BayRSS plugin from Azlan Kasim for several months now, both here on IMMania.com as well as on several niche affiliate blogs. This is a fantastic WP plugin and has worked for me without a hitch. My approach to using the eBay affiliate program, now called ePN since the migration in-house by eBay, is to rapidly blast-test products from eBay using Adwords and then breakout the winners into WP blogs to leverage longer term free traffic.
Gotta love that free traffic!
Google Analytics – Required Insight
I’m currently in the process of overhauling my oldest affiliate content site. This has been a very tedious process to say the least. The site was originally setup to use SSI (server side includes) since at the time, it was suggested to me to go that route in order to include things like a common sidebar navigation and footer includes. The concept is definitely sound, but the method to implement it is kind of outdated.
Google Slap Number 4
“And castles made of sand,
slip into the sea, …eventually”
Jimi Hendrix – “Castles Made of Sand”; Axis Bold As Love
Yesterday, sometime in the afternoon my time (EST), Google started going to work on my Adwords campaigns on the Search Network. It clearly was a “Google Slap” in action, but this time around it seemed to be acting a little differently.
At first, it was only a few ad groups in one campaign and then only certain keywords. While some keywords were getting hit with the usual $5 and $10 minimum bids, which are typical of a Slap, others were hanging on at .05 with “Great” Quality Scores.
PPC Classroom – Final Grade Is In
I joined “PPC Classroom” on the day it launched – September 25, 2007. I can easily remember that date because it’s my dad’s birthday, but anyway, I was sitting in front of my PC refreshing the sales page in order to qualify for the “fast action bonus”.
I’ve waited until now to write up a full review of PPCC in order to let all of the dust settle. And there has been quite a bit of dust to be settling.
