Coming from an engineering background I’ve been conditioned to appreciate the value of data in shaping my decisions. It’s all part of the Scientific Process, which was introduced to us back around the 5th grade, but unless we went on to pursue careers in science-based fields, we promptly forgot about it.
However, if we eventually wandered over to the field of IM, then we started hearing the incessant chant of “testing and tracking“.
Jeez! All the techy stuff is bad enough, but now we’re expected to learn about A-B split testing, Taguchi methods, and Chi-Squared analysis.

Well, the numbers are finally in and the US retail sector had its worst holiday season in 5 years. Economists had been predicting this even before the 2007 holiday shopping season kicked into gear. Actually, anyone paying any attention at all to the dire economic news — sub-prime mortgage mess, turmoil in the credit markets, and ever rising food and energy prices, could have seen this coming from way off
It was only a matter of time before the US consumer started putting a clamp on spending.

First off, Happy (belated) New Year! It looks like I’ve stumbled a bit out of the gate heading into the new year. One of my resolutions (I hate that word) is to post more frequently here at IMMania.com. I’m really going to work on that.
I got to!
Rather than hash over the same old resolutions/goals that are pretty typical when looking ahead to the coming year, I’ll just touch on a few of the more important goals that I absolutely, positively, must get accomplished.
No ifs ands or buts!

To be honest, I didn’t encounter the expression “Don’t Leave Money On The Table” until I was working for a very small startup about 5 years ago. The expression struck me as amusing since who would be silly enough to or wealthy enough for that matter to just leave money behind?
It brought to mind the image of robber barons lighting cigars with $100 bills.
Working for a tiny startup company gave me unique access to the CEO and strategy meetings that usually focused on sales and marketing. They weren’t the typical discussions centering around technical issues that I was used to participating in as an engineer.

As I continue to chomp at the bit waiting to get started with PPC Classroom, I thought I’d post one last time about my initial observations with PPC Classroom. I have no intention at this point of airing dirty laundry from inside the members’ forum or revealing anything further with the status of the course delivery. I know Jeremy Palmer is being pushed to the edge fighting some last minute fires and I still remain confident that once all is said and done that I will have received ample value for my money.
