I received an email from Anita Chaperon yesterday that she was closing down her blog of 8 months and directed subscribers to the blog’s home page for more details.
I couldn’t help but feel a profound sadness at the news.
It’s hard to explain, but I would liken it to pulling up to your favorite bar or restaurant and finding that it’s gone out of business.
Her blog was Reviewlicious.com and was the first blog I entered into my BlogRoll. As I recall, I think I received a notice from her husband Andre, that Anita was launching Reviewlicious.com and eagerly signed up for the announcement list.
Well, I signed up for a BlogRush account and have the widget installed over there on the sidebar of this blog. I put it at the bottom so it’s probably not getting as much visibility, but I didn’t want it front and center. I can’t have it preempting my stuff over there.
The sign up process is very quick and painless. The topic categories are somewhat limited, but are broad enough I think to cover most blogging subjects. I didn’t see one for “Internet Marketing“, so I selected “Marketing“. Turns out this category works fine and I’m seeing highly relevant blogs from the IM space. When Alice Seba’s blog popped up in the list, I knew things were on track.
John Reese has just announced a new service that he’s calling “BlogRush” over on his income.com blog. He describes it as a “blog syndication service”. John says it’s based on RSS and some of their own technology. He says that they’re even going to apply for a couple of patents. In a nutshell, it’s a form of traffic trading for blogs.
*** Important Update Regarding BayRSS:
Due to unavailability of support for BayRSS, I no longer can recommend BayRSS to readers of my blog. Please see my comment below for more details.
One of the great things about being a member of Dennis Becker’s Earn1kaDay.com membership site is the wealth of knowledge of the other members there. On top of this collective knowledge and experience, is a strong desire within a lot of the members to contribute generously of both their time and resources.
