Selling Your Own Products Online

August 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

I recently put together a short report on how to double your Adsense earnings using a simple, but little know technique. I put it up for sale in the Earn1kaDay members forum. Dennis Becker, the site owner, has created a sub-forum where members can offer products for sale to other members at a lower price than they offer it elsewhere. It’s really very similar to the WSO forum over at the Warrior Forum.

I had been mulling over the idea of coming out with my own eBooks and also software products, but hadn’t made much progress in getting anything done. That’s really one of the great things about the Earn1kaDay membership site, Dennis as well as the other members really push you to break through any barriers that may be holding you back from achieving success.

So I got inspired and cranked out the report in about a day. I had never setup a PayPal “buy now” button, but this was made extremely easy with a resell rights product that Dennis had added to the member downloads area. It contained a step-by-step pdf as well as a Camtasia video of how to set up a “buy now” button.

I also created a new auto-responder in my Aweber account to handle update notifications for the report. I made it clear to customers that’s all it would be used for. So after the download page was uploaded, I created a quick and dirty eBook cover using “Scott’s Box Shot Generator” and some royalty-free photos. I then wrote a short post in the “Special Offers from Authors” sub-forum, which served as my sales letter, and sat back waiting for the orders to come rolling in.

And guess what? They did come in! Nothing huge mind you, but it was still a big thrill to receive those PayPal payment notification emails in my inbox. I can see how that can become very addicting very quickly.

Affiliate marketing is great, but why not expand your revenue opportunities by creating and selling some of your own products? And you don’t even need to create them yourself. You can hire a ghost writer, use PLR products, and even resell rights products. Though personally, I would save the resell rights products as bonuses for original product offerings since they’re most likely oversold.

It’s definitely time to get cranking on my next product offering!
