John Reese has just announced a new service that he’s calling “BlogRush” over on his income.com blog. He describes it as a “blog syndication service”. John says it’s based on RSS and some of their own technology. He says that they’re even going to apply for a couple of patents. In a nutshell, it’s a form of traffic trading for blogs.

The topic of traffic trading is rather timely for me since I recently purchased “Traffic From Scratch” over at the Warrior Forum as a WSO. This particular WSO got my attention, and probably that of a lot of other purchasers, because it claims to use traffic generation tactics used by webmasters in the adult industry. And when you think of the adult industry, you can’t help think about an abundance of traffic. Though it might not be the first thing that comes to mind.

So I was very interested in learning more about what John is offering with BlogRush.

First off, John says it’s a free service. Of course, I’m still trying to work out all the angles in order to see where John is ultimately going with this. Is John Reese so wealthy now, that he can create services like this that he will not profit from in some way?

Perhaps.

We can’t know for sure until BlogRush is completely rolled out. Maybe then we will discover that we’ve been drawn into a giant sales funnel for “Traffic Secrets 2.0″, which will dwarf the original in both deliverables and price tag. A tractor trailer will pull up to your home to unload several shipping containers filled with DVDs, manuals, and your own personal Traffic Secrets 2.0 coaching staff.

We’ll have to wait and see.

In the mean time, John has my attention. Despite the wonderful SEO benefits and Google’s infatuation with blogs, which borders on the absurd, many blogs get diddly in the way of traffic.

Take this blog for instance…please.

On a good day, I’m lucky to get more than 3 visitors. Sure, it’s still new and I’m extremely lax about doing the social bookmarking hokey pokey, but sometimes I think it’s like writing in a secret diary that I lock up and throw in a drawer when I’m done. I have a feeling a lot of other people with blogs feel the same way.

So maybe blog traffic trading in the form of “BlogRush” is just the lift blogs need to bootstrap in some traffic. Any traffic. There are thousands of little blogs out there pleading to be heard.
