PPC Classroom The Day After

The dust has settled a bit after yesterday’s chaotic launch of “PPC Classroom“. I can only imagine how wiped out the launch team is. On top of the server problems, Jeremy and Anik had to field a bunch of questions from confused and somewhat upset customers over the terms of the monthly membership.

The upshot regarding the monthly membership, which was initially to be a 30-day free trial, is that it’s been amended to be a 90-day free trial. Jeremy and Anik said this was being done to make up for the server hassles from yesterday.
I’m still a bit disappointed, since I was expecting the membership to be lifetime, but I guess that’s an unreasonable expectation on my part. So I don’t have a problem with this, though I still wish the terms of the membership had be made a little more prominent prior to the launch.

I supposes it comes down to what people were expecting to receive for their $487 (plus shipping) investment.

Even without the monthly membership, the physical course consisting of dvds, workbooks, and teleseminars seems to be good value for the money and I’m still confident that Jeremy will deliver that value. In addition, Jeremy’s personal tool that he’s used to amass his fortune from PPC is also included in the price. This is what I truly wanted to get my hands on.

However, another bit of a stunner was revealed today regarding upgrades to the tool:

Only active members of the monthly membership are entitled to free upgrades.

Now as a software developer myself, I understand the economics of a maintenance agreement in order to provide support and upgrades to customers. It only makes good business sense. But I think in this case, free lifetime upgrades for the initial round of customers, regardless of ongoing subscription to the membership plan, would have been a classy touch.

I don’t know. Am I expecting too much for what I paid for “PPC Classroom”?

    Rich,

I may be mistaken but I do believe you had already answered your own question even before you bought the product or am I wrong in assuming the following:

    1. You are a member of his other forum, where he makes valuable posts.
    2. You are not going to get his keyword lists.
    3. You will not get his merchant deals.
    4. You have not got his $ ad spend budget.
    5. You can easily make a php script to track ROI.
    6. You are already capable of producing simple Review landing pages.
    7. You never needed Anik Singal before.
    8. You dont need another monthly paid membership.
    9. You should always feel happy when getting value for money. (if you are not happy then it is not value to you!)

You now feel a little bit over expectant. Yes?

So what was it that you were expecting to be worth $487 ?

Maybe not the answer you wanted, but it is food for thought 8-)

    Hi Realist,

Thanks for providing some more food for thought ;-) .

To further answer my own question regarding what I was expecting for my money — that apparently I won’t be receiving:

    1. Lifetime access to the members’ forum
    2. Lifetime updates to Jeremy’s PPC tool

Regarding item 1, I’ve accepted that I won’t be getting that. Yes, apparently it was mentioned on the launch blog and in the sales letter that didn’t appear until launch day. I still think they could have made it more prominent and mentioned it in the numerous emails that were sent out prior to launch, but I can move on from that.

However, I probably will not be extending the 90-day free trial.

Item 2: I don’t recall it being mentioned anywhere until I was actually a paying customer. Again, I as I mentioned in my post, I understand the business reason for this, but again I wish I knew about it going in. I’m certain the script as is will be very powerful and it’s probably also well debugged so critical updates won’t be necessary (knock on wood).

As for me being able to easily code a similar script, I really don’t think that’s the point. It really comes down to leverage — money for time. I don’t have the time to reinvent the wheel and getting Jeremy’s field-tested tool will help immensely.

So, have I received value for my money?

I can’t really answer that since I haven’t actually received anything yet — no course materials, no script, no coaching. Again, I’m confident that I will get my money’s worth since I have a lot of respect for Jeremy Palmer. And in fairness to Anik, I understand he will be conducting a teleseminar revealing his CPA campaigns, which he apparently is quite adept at. So I’m looking forward to that as well.

I didn’t intend to bash “PPC Classroom”, but merely to provide my impressions of things thus far. This is definitely a work in progress both for the product owners as well as their customers.

As such, the jury is still out.

    Hi Rich,

Sound like the usual sales pitch did its job and helped most buyers miss a few bits.

Hope you do get your value out of “PPC Classroom”.

Let us know when the jury comes in with a decision, hope you dont need an executioneer :-)

Well, one thing I’ve already learned is to save a copy of the final sales page before hitting the order button — and that’s something I learned from my fellow “PPC Classroom” members LOL.

Jeremy’s webinar this evening on his PPC tool was pretty amazing. Clearly a lot of work has gone into it and it’s definitely a vital part of his business.

He actually showed a live campaign of his including the keywords, which I don’t think he wanted to do, but there is no way to block them out in the webinar software.

He showed results of just a single day and the total commissions were eye-popping to say the least!

I will report back periodically with my progress and any further impressions of “PPC Classroom”.

Are we about due for a periodic update or has the jury given up and gone back to work? :-)

Hey Realist, nope, the jury is still deliberating, but has reached a verdict on the main charge:

“Was PPC Classroom worth the $500?”

I’ve gotten a ton of value so far from PPC Classroom that it makes the $500 look like a pittance.

Just got off another weekly teleseminar and added a couple of more pages of notes to the ones I already have from past calls. The calls alone are incredible!

My plan has been to reserve a full review of PPC Classroom until the 90 free-trial membership expires at the end of December. I’ll write up my complete review early in the New Year along with a review of the bonus I received from Andre Chaperon and his buddy Brent.

The jury is still deliberating on whether or not to continue with a paid membership to PPC Classroom after December 2007.

Thanks for keeping me honest though!

    Rich

Yeah, it could get to be a really long list. Though I have gotten better at unsubscribing to email lists of marketers who are constantly pitching the latest crappola.

The only other solution is to start earning some really serious money to support my info-junkie habit. Sounds like as good a New Year’s resolution as any, huh ;-) .
